Lucent Tutoring ("Lucent," "we," "us," or "our") provides MCAT tutoring and related educational support. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Lucent website, contact us, arrange tutoring, make payments, or share practice results as part of your tutoring.

Information You Provide

Contact and Consultation Forms

When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, student or parent/guardian status, MCAT focus area if provided, and your message. You may also choose to share your goals, test date, or availability so we can respond to your inquiry and discuss tutoring.

MCAT Tutoring and Practice Tracking

If you become a Lucent student, we may collect MCAT-related information such as full-length practice exam scores, section scores, topic weaknesses, session notes, assignments, study plans, attendance records, and communications related to tutoring. This information is used to provide tutoring, track progress, plan sessions, and communicate with students or, where appropriate, parents or guardians.

Student Accounts

If you have a Lucent student account, you sign in with Google. Google tells us your email address and confirms it is verified; we never see or store your Google password. We store your email address, the practice exam scores and exam names you enter, and basic login records such as when your session started and expires. Account data is stored with Cloudflare. Your scores are visible to you and may be reviewed by Lucent tutors to support your tutoring.

The account area uses one essential cookie to keep you logged in. It is not used for advertising or tracking across other websites, and it is removed when you log out or after 30 days. To delete your account or saved scores, use the remove option next to each exam or contact Lucent.

Payments and Session Coordination

If online payment is offered, it is handled through Stripe-hosted pages. We use Resend to deliver contact-form messages to Lucent. Please enter payment-card details only on the Stripe payment page, never in the contact form or an email. This website does not collect or store full payment-card numbers.

Website Hosting and Security

Cloudflare provides website hosting and the security check on our contact form. It may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, request details, and security-check results to operate and protect the website. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. We may use Google Search Console to understand how the site appears in search results.

External Websites and Services

This website may link to services operated by third parties, including Cloudflare, Stripe, Resend, Google services, and external educational resources. When you follow an external link or use a third-party service, your interaction is governed by that third party's own terms, privacy policies, and practices. Lucent does not control the operation, security, availability, accessibility, or privacy practices of third-party websites and services.

Information We Do Not Intend to Collect

Lucent does not intend to use this website to collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, health records, full payment-card numbers, bank account credentials, or account passwords for third-party testing services. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through website forms unless Lucent specifically requests it through an appropriate secure channel.

Students and Parents or Guardians

Some Lucent students may be minors. Where appropriate, Lucent may communicate with a parent or guardian about scheduling, payment, tutoring progress, and practice test tracking. Lucent aims to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide MCAT tutoring and related services.

Data Requests and Questions

If you have a question about information submitted directly to Lucent, or if you would like to request access, correction, deletion, or reduced use of information associated with you, please contact Lucent through our contact form. Requests involving information submitted directly to Stripe, Cloudflare, Resend, or another third-party service may also be subject to that organization's own procedures and policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Lucent may update this Privacy Policy as the website, tutoring services, payment systems, or third-party services change. When material changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
